Acer Introduces Predator Helios Neo Gaming Laptops with 240Hz OLED, RTX 5080, and New Intel Core
23.03.26
Acer has announced the expansion of its Predator Helios Neo gaming laptop series, adding models with Intel Core Ultra 200HX Plus processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics accelerators in maximum configurations. The updated line includes three devices: Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, Neo 16 AI, and Neo 18 AI. Users are offered versions with Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus or 7 270HX Plus chips, as well as graphics cards up to RTX 5080 with 16 GB of GDDR7 video memory.
Slim Body and Fast OLED Display
The Predator Helios Neo 16S AI (PHN16S-I71) model is designed with an emphasis on mobility. The case thickness does not exceed 18.9 mm, the weight is about 2.3 kg, and the battery has a capacity of 92 Wh. For cooling, a system with a Predator AeroBlade 3D fan and a liquid metal thermal interface is used.

The laptop is equipped with a 16-inch OLED screen with HDR support, WQXGA resolution and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. The response time is 1 ms, full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space is declared, and the accuracy of color reproduction is confirmed by Calman Verified certification.
As for connections, Intel Killer Ethernet E3100 and Wi-Fi 6E 1675i controllers are provided, as well as support for Bluetooth 5.4 and newer versions. The set of interfaces includes Thunderbolt 4 Type-C, USB 3.2 of different generations, HDMI 2.1, a microSD card slot, a combo audio jack, an RJ-45 port, a power connector and a Kensington lock.
Neo 16 AI Version with a Changed Form Factor
The Predator Helios Neo 16 AI (PHN16-I71) retains the basic characteristics of the older model, but differs in a number of parameters. In particular, a display with a refresh rate of 165 Hz is used. The case has become more massive — the thickness reaches 26.75 mm, and the weight has increased to 2.7 kg.
To increase cooling efficiency, in addition to the AeroBlade 3D fan and liquid metal, vector heat pipes are used. Otherwise, the hardware remains comparable to the 16S AI version.
Both 16-inch models support up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM with a frequency of 6400 MT/s. For data storage, two PCIe Gen 4 NVMe slots are provided, each designed for SSDs with a capacity of up to 1 TB, which in total gives up to 2 TB.
Enlarged Screen in the Neo 18 AI Model
The third device in the line is the Predator Helios Neo 18 AI (PHN18-I71) with an 18-inch display. The screen operates at a refresh rate of 240 Hz, has a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and provides full coverage of the DCI-P3 color space.
Additionally, Ambient Contrast Ratio technology is used, which reduces glare and increases image contrast. In terms of other characteristics, the laptop repeats the 16-inch versions, including processors, graphics cards, cooling system and connection interfaces.
Tools Using AI

All models implement functions related to the use of artificial intelligence. The PredatorSense utility allows you to configure the device’s operating parameters, including controlling the four-zone RGB keyboard backlight and other elements.
For voice and video calls, Acer PurifiedVoice and PurifiedView technologies are used, which reduce background noise and correct images. There is also an Acer Intelligence Space package, which includes tools such as Game Assistant for in-game assistance and ProCam for automatically capturing key game moments.
When to Expect on Sale
The Predator Helios Neo 16S AI, Neo 16 AI and Neo 18 AI are expected to be available in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in June 2026.
