48 new sixth generation Intel Core processors at IFA 2015
09.09.15
The first-born of the new, now sixth generation of Intel Core processors, are top-end desktop models for enthusiasts Intel Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K. They were presented in early August, and about a month later at IFA 2015, Intel announced the entire sixth-generation Intel Core family (architecture codenamed Skylake), consisting of a total of 48 processors for mobile PCs, laptops, tablets and hybrid transformable devices.
With the same 14-nanometer process technology as the models “>Intel Core fifth generation, new products have a new architecture. The manufacturer boldly calls its new Skylake processors the best processors in Intel history.
Compared to computers five years ago, new Skylake-based PCs are 2.5 times faster, battery life has tripled, and built-in video performance has increased by 30 times! once.
The Skylake family includes:
– five 4.5-watt Intel Core m3/m5/m7 (note that division into m3, m5, m7 has been added. Previously, the redneck was simply Intel Core M). The main purpose is ultra-compact laptops and transformable devices with passive cooling and a good level of performance;
- ten 15- and four 28-watt models for portable laptops and hybrids;
- six 45-watt models for large laptops;
- two 45-watt Intel Xeon processors for mobile workstations;
- 18 desktop processors;
- two 91-watt processors for enthusiasts (the same Intel Core i7-6700K and Core i5-6600K).
At its stand, Intel prepared a special exposition where it showed a number of completely serial PC models already using the new Skylake processors. It should be noted that at the exhibition itself there were plenty of such models at the stands of different manufacturers (Lenovo, Toshiba, etc.). Apparently, devices based on Intel Skylake will soon be seen on store shelves.
