Return of 4GB DDR4 RAM: Goodram releases Rival Radiant series during DDR5 price crisis
28.06.26
With the ongoing boom in artificial intelligence technology, prices for modern memory chips have soared into the stratosphere, making budget builds a luxury. Retail prices for DDR5 RAM are at an all-time high, pushing gamers to look for alternative, cost-effective ways to spice up their PCs. Polish manufacturer Wilk Elektronik is rushing to the rescue with its key sub-brand Goodram: a completely new budget RAM Goodram Rival DDR4 Radiant is entering the market. An unexpected sensation in the series was the return of the classic 4 GB module, helping to minimize the system budget of gamers.
What is the new Goodram Rival DDR4 Radiant memory?
The Polish company decided to breathe new life into what is still the most reliable standard. Against the background of the hype of AI technologies, buying modern chips in traditional retail has turned into a harsh financial quest. The largest memory kits of DDR4 and DDR5 standards of 48 and 64 GB easily overcome the barrier of price tags of 20,600 UAH ($500), forcing lovers of computer upgrades to abandon costly ambitions. The Polish brand designed Goodram Rival DDR4 Radiant specifically to remove technical boundaries when playing demanding video games, high-quality online content streaming and resource-intensive PC use.
Description and characteristics of Goodram Rival DDR4 Radiant
This RAM belongs to energy-efficient gaming-grade modules and is characterized by the following capabilities:
- Nominal operating rate: Base clock speed reaches a reliable 3200 MT/s.
- Latency parameters (timings): fast CL16 or CL18 (the exact value depends on the SKU form factor).
- Power consumption and supply voltage: low values of 1.2 V or 1.35 V for smooth overclocking.
- Wide capacity models: from modest 4 GB boards to mid-range 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB boards. It is possible to purchase dual-channel configurations up to 64 GB inclusive.
- Factory passive cooling: the classic black color of the board is covered with matte red or emerald green designer radiator plates.
- Confident manufacturer’s warranty: the brand provides lifetime proprietary technical support for all devices in this series.
Release date and cost of Goodram Rival DDR4 on the European market
Although the brand itself states that the exact global retail price will be formed somewhat later, popular European retailers from the Baltic marketplace AiO were the first to put out a price list for the long-awaited components in stores. Today, the approximate price order is presented in the following list:
- The large 2-channel kit 64 GB is sold by the dealer at a price of around €622.99, that is, 29,250 UAH ($710).
- An average gaming level set of 32 GB is offered for €320 – approximately 14,200 UAH ($345).
- The initial paired kit with a capacity of 16 GB is sold by the retailer at a price of €150, which corresponds to 6,600 UAH ($160).
- Single lightweight sticks of DDR4 RAM with a capacity of 8 GB cost fans of the upgrade €78.99 – approximately 3,700 UAH ($90).
Key technical nuances and shortage of raw materials
The Polish corporation itself confirmed: modules in the format of only 4 GB of physical memory have fallen out of the attention of the technological society due to the rapidly growing PC mainstream. The market is currently experiencing an unpredictable, tough semiconductor “super cycle.” The manufacturing trajectory has shifted in favor of AI computing giants, making low-cost memory a severe scarcity. The introduction of old 4 GB sticks made it possible to compensate for demand where a regular office PC requires simple regeneration with a guarantee.
