Poco C81 Pro: huge 6.9″ screen and powerful 6000mAh battery for $99

Huge screen and marathon battery life for $99: analysis of Poco C81 Pro

The market for affordable smartphones is undergoing an interesting transformation: brands have stopped chasing megapixels and switched to the “maximum usable area and operating time” format. Following the recent April 26 release of the C81 and C81x models for the Indian market, Poco has launched an improved version on the global stage – Poco C81 Pro. The new product is aimed at those who consume video content in huge quantities and want not to depend on an outlet.

Gigantism as an advantage

The main feature of the device is its front panel. Poco C81 Pro comes with a 6.9-inch LCD display. With such a diagonal, the device comes close to the format of compact tablets of previous years. Despite the budget HD+ resolution (1600 x 720 pixels), the engineers kept the picture smooth by offering a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is rare for the entry-level segment. Peak brightness is 650 nits, which is enough for comfortable use indoors or in moderate sunlight. In bright sunshine, of course, this will not be enough.

Poco C81 Pro display and cameras

Hidden inside is a fresh Unisoc T7250 chipset. This is an energy-efficient solution that is paired with 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Unlike the basic versions of the C81, the Pro model received a faster and more capacious UFS 2.2 drive with a capacity of up to 256 GB. If this does not seem enough, there is a separate slot for a microSD memory card.

Autonomy and software Poco C81 Pro

To power such a large screen, an appropriate battery was required. The device received a 6,000 mAh battery, which is 20% more than the industry standard in this class. True, for the huge capacity we had to pay for the speed of energy replenishment – only 15-watt charging is supported. Interestingly, the smartphone runs on the latest HyperOS 3 based on Android 15, which ensures that the software remains relevant for the coming years.

The set of cameras here is distinctly utilitarian: the main 13-megapixel module is complemented by an auxiliary lens, and the front-facing 8-megapixel camera fits neatly into a drop-shaped cutout. The engineers retained all the necessary attributes of a practical device: a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and even an NFC module for contactless payments.

Poco C81 Pro color options

Price and availability of Poco C81 Pro

The smartphone is available in three colors: Black, Green and Gold. The pricing policy is aggressive, which is traditional for Poco:

  • 4 GB / 64 GB – $99 (about 4,110 ₴);
  • 4 GB / 128 GB – $109 (about 4,525 ₴);
  • 4 GB / 256 GB – $129 (about 5,355 ₴).

As of the end of April 2026, there is not a single offer of Poco smartphones of the C81 line in Ukraine.

What does this mean for the user?

For the average buyer, the Poco C81 Pro is an ideal workhorse or a child’s first smartphone. The huge screen is great for YouTube and instant messaging, and the 6,000 mAh battery allows you to forget about charging for two days even with active use. Having Android 15 out of the box means the device will remain secure and compatible with apps for a long time, while NFC adds modern convenience to everyday shopping.

At the moment in Ukraine, Ukrainian retailers have a fairly large number of previous Poco C71 models and their modifications in their warehouses, therefore: either the market is waiting for a reduction in prices for the previous line and a flurry of promotions for them, or we will have to wait until the warehouse stocks are sold out.
