Mangmi revealed the hardware of Air Y gaming consoles: familiar Snapdragon processors
18.07.26
Mangmi continues to reveal details about the upcoming Air Y line of portable consoles. After the manufacturer announced the appearance of the Air Y and Air Y Pro models and demonstrated the design along with display and charging parameters, it is the turn of the processors. It became known that under the hood of the new products there will be chipsets from Qualcomm that are already well known to the market.
Air Y hardware and processors
The Mangmi Air Y line consists of two versions, which differ significantly in terms of performance:
- Air Y (basic version): equipped with a Snapdragon 662 processor. This solution is already familiar to fans of the brand, since the same chip was used in the company’s first portable console, the Air X model.
- Air Y Pro (advanced version): will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor. This chip is also not new and is familiar to users from the Mangmi Pocket Max device.
The use of proven chips may indicate a strategy for recycling components from previous generations of devices, which in theory can reduce the final cost of gadgets for consumers.
Design features and price
In addition to the processors, a recent teaser revealed some ergonomic details of the Air Y Pro model. The device will receive a full set of necessary connectors: a slot for microSD cards, a standard headphone jack (audio jack), a microphone and a USB-C port located on the top edge of the case. The equipment of the basic version of Air Y remains in question at the moment.
As for the cost, experts expect that both models of the Air Y series will be more affordable than the company’s previous models Air X (currently available on Amazon for $145.99 (about 6,000 hryvnia), in Ukraine prices start from 6,999 hryvnia) and Pocket Max. This is because the new devices have smaller screens with lower resolution and 60Hz refresh rates. Mangmi has not yet disclosed the amount of RAM and internal memory, as well as battery capacity, it is expected that these data will be published in the near future.
