Google will add artificial intelligence to search
20.05.24Google has announced significant changes to its search engine. A year ago, testing of experimental AI-based Search Generative Experience (SGE) features began, and now they are starting to be implemented in Google’s search engine. New AI Overviews features will be prioritized and data from AI will be displayed on top of classic search data, which could significantly change the way we experience search and the Internet in the future. Google will initially roll out the new features only to US users, but they will eventually be available in other regions.
Search uses the Gemini AI model to analyze data across the web to summarize results and provide the most accurate and relevant information. However, AI will not be used for every request. For example, if you need to find a company’s URL, just enter its name and get a link to the desired site. AI is suitable for more complex and complex queries. An example query is: “Find the best yoga or pilates studio in Boston with a rating of more than four stars within a half hour of Beacon Hill.” In normal mode, the user would have to search for information and reviews about many places in the desired area, but AI search will analyze and do everything for the user, immediately providing objects that meet the criteria.
