FromSoftware announces The Duskbloods Network Test: Exclusive for Nintendo Switch 2

FromSoftware announces network test The Duskblo 2

The FromSoftware studio has officially confirmed plans for public testing of its new project, the experimental PvPvE action game The Duskbloods. The game, which is set to become an exclusive for the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, opens the door for players who want to experience the combat system of the upcoming hit.

 The Duskbloods details

The Duskbloods is radically different from the classic projects of Hidetaki Miyazaki. This is a session project that is completely focused on online interaction. Unlike the usual single-player games of the studio, here the emphasis is on constant competition or cooperation with other users.  The main feature of the gameplay is unique personal tasks. Each participant before the start of the match receives a quest whose victory conditions are random and can either help or hinder other players.

Test dates and conditions

Public network testing will take place between August 21 and 24, 2026. It’s important to note that the game requires an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Those wishing to participate must submit an application by July 22 of the current year.

Test schedule (CEST)

Date Holding time
August 21 12:00 – 15:59
August 22 04:00 – 07:59 and 20:00 – 23:59
August 23rd 12:00 – 15:59
August 24 04:00 – 07:59

Target testing from developers

The main task of developers from FromSoftware is to test the load of the server infrastructure in conditions of high player activity. In addition, the team plans to collect feedback on the balance of the combat system of the souls-like format and analyze the general impressions of the interaction of players within the framework of session matches.

The Duskbloods is a bold experiment that may surprise fans of the studio. Given the emphasis on team-based (and sometimes controversial) PvPvE interaction, the game is focused on the competitive segment. A full-fledged release is expected already in 2026 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
