Microsoft is ending support for running Android apps and games on Windows 11
08.03.24Microsoft has announced that it will no longer support the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) effective March 5, 2025. This subsystem allowed Android applications from the Amazon Appstore to run on Windows 11 computers. After this date, users will not be able to install or use such applications, or receive technical support from Microsoft. The function worked for less than a year – from March 2023.
The reasons for Microsoft’s decision have not been officially announced, butthey may be due to low demand for Android apps on Windows or competition from other ways to run Android apps on PCsuch as Google Play Games or third-party emulators .
Users who need to continue using Android apps on Windows are advised to seek alternative solutions before March 5, 2025, or switch to a different operating system.
