An interview with the developers of WeStudy – a multi-service platform for creating and selling courses

Today we will talk with the developers of multi-service platform for info business WeStudy. We are in touch with two of the four Ryzhkov brothers, the founders of ViStadi LLC.

Rostislav is the chief director and programmer of the company, and we will start with him.

Tell us what your platform is about.

We have created a multifunctional digital platform for running an info business: launching, selling and conducting online courses and trainings. We have integrated many services into a single electronic cabinet: a CRM system, a virtual learning environment with powerful functionality (storage of materials and videos in a secure cloud storage, testing with support for photos and video answers, schedule settings, stop lessons, integration with YouTube, Zoom, Google Meets, Microsoft Teams, task creation and assessment, learning progress tracking), Telegram bot, email distribution, messenger, automated payment system, site builder.

What is the monetization model of your platform?

We have a subscription for use. Our prices are the most democratic on the market. Not only that, a month of free usage period in the “Elite” package. After a month of free use, customers choose whether to stay on this tariff or switch to “Basic” or “Elite+”.

How did the idea to create your service come about, what was the reason/stimulus?

We thought a lot about creating a separate service for infobusiness, but mostly continued to work on digitization projects of state universities of Ukraine. The impetus for WeStudy Online was the beginning of the war in Ukraine. In our opinion, it is unacceptable and immoral for a Ukrainian to use software products that were developed in the country of the aggressors. However, it is not always technically possible to switch to normal analogues with appropriate functionality – because they are usually simply not available on our market, or they are very difficult to master due to the lack of Ukrainian localization and other factors. That’s why we decided to create a service that would satisfy the Ukrainian info business as much as possible. Created by Ukrainians for Ukrainians.

We know that you already have many clients, quite famous online schools have launched on WeStudy. But what exactly are your customers saying?

Since the launch of the project, I do not remember a day when we did not have registration on the platform. They say different things. In order not to repeat everything now, with your permission we can place some reviews and links to infobusinesses in addition to the text version of the interview. On behalf of myself and our team in general, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to our beloved customers for their patience, understanding and support of our service. Especially to the first customers with whom we went to MVP together – you told us what we needed, you were able to trust us and, I hope, we fulfilled your expectations. We listen to the wishes of customers and try to set up the functionalities that are currently relevant and in demand as quickly as possible. I still remember the day when the first customer made a subscription for three years – the maximum possible term. This is trust. The highest rating for our work. And this is not an isolated case, I will tell you a secret…

Yes, our clients know that if we promise that an update will be released soon, then it will definitely be released. If you take the functionality that was at the beginning of MVP and now – it’s just heaven and earth. Our customers test our promises in practice. That’s why we love them, and I hope they love us too.

Tell us what you’ve changed since the release of MVP. What updates have you already made?

We have two or three updates every week. I will not list everything. However, from such powerful ones that have recently been:

• connected 4 payment systems (LiqPay, Monobank, WayForPay, Fondy);
• set up a system of dedicated servers – for safe storage of customer data;
• set up a multi-stage access system for managers;
• installed a system for sorting users by groups and labels;
• reworked the course manager – our UI/UX department without exaggeration created a miracle there.

What other updates are planned?

A lot is planned. Not everything can be told. But from the fact that everything should come out:

Site designer. And this will not be just an update, this is a really new service. Powerful, which can and will live its own separate life, but will be included in our already defined WeStudy tariffs. Now all our efforts for this project. Landing of the site, landings of courses – all this will play with new colors. It still looks pretty good, but you can only imagine what it will be with the opportunities that will open with the new site designer!

Another update that can be announced and is planned shortly after the site builder is the WeStudy Partner Cabinet. This will be the main toolkit for the affiliate program. Each willing user will be able to go through authorization and register as a partner and receive a unique partner link, which will be used to record the clients that this partner has added. The terms of the affiliate program are currently not disclosed, but I will say for myself that it will be more than acceptable. The partner will receive a percentage of the payments up to the subscription year of the client that was provided by that partner. Payments will be distributed transparently through the partnership capabilities of the Fondy payment system.

Finally, what else would you like to announce?

We have decided to introduce online communication through broadcasts on YouTube and other resources every Friday at 19.00. The time may change, which we will notify separately. On these broadcasts, we will consider various interesting cases live, talk about updates, teach how to use functionalities, answer customer questions and simply communicate with them. Therefore, we invite everyone to join our WeStudy YouTube channel, subscribe to it and follow interesting videos and broadcasts.

Tariffs include site designer and disk space. How much space is fixed according to the tariffs?

Yes, our rates include both a site designer, a CRM system, and a course editor. We have 25 gigabytes of space in the basic tariff, 150 gigabytes in Elite, 350 gigabytes in Elite+.

Next question: How can your platform be mastered?

In fact, we have worked hard on a user-friendly interface. It can be mastered intuitively. However, just in case, we have also created free courses on working with our platform. It is very easy to subscribe to them – after registering in your personal account, just select the “help” tab and follow the link to the landing page for courses on working with the platform. We developed the courses in such a way that the skin lecture is like a separate answer to the most common question. Thus, there is no need to go through all the lectures of the course, but simply choose those on which there are questions.
